[7]pp., 12mo. Stapled. In fair condition, on lightly aged and creased paper, with rusty staple. The text begins: 'It is now generally recognised that, with the possible exception of certain juvenile cases, insulin does not exercise any definitely curative influence in diabetes.' Further on 'attention is called to the action of the salts of Uranium, especially the nitrate, in diabetes. | The investigations of Bouchardat, Duncan, West and others proved conclusively that by promoting oxidation, such agents as Uranium and Manganese greatly increase the activity of the cellular protoplasm and the process of glycolysis in the tissues'. And further on stil reference is made to how 'the oxidising and stimulating influence of the Uranium is exercised on the whole of the tissues of the body [last seven words in bold]'. Testimonials are reproduced from 'Dr. Lihoreau, | Pont-Rousseau (Loire-Inf.)', 'Dr. L. Maderey, | Pavillon Saint-Sever. (Landes)', 'Dr. M. Rasurel, | Pont d'Ain (Ain)', 'Dr. Lartet, | Ornezan, (Gers)' and 'Dr. Flamant, | Licentiate in Science, | Paris Faculty of Medicine'. The last page is headed 'DIRECTIONS FOR USE.'
