32pp., 4to, typescript (carbon copy), some closed tears, but text complete and clear, minor corrections and additions in manuscript, partly detached from paper binding, itself grubby and with minor damage, rusted staples. A well-written and entertaining account of a Mission to Sydney, describing events, scenery, activities etc, "The suggestion of a Mission Tour to Sydney and Singleton came from within the Melbourne Band Circle [...]". Committee elected, mode of transport decided (bus and light lorry)) and members of the party named at a General Meeting; route; forewarning of places to be visited; the "great day"; hymn and quotation from scripture at outset; leave Seymour; stop for drink at Benella where a drunk "thrust his lighted cigarette into a Bandsman's beard"; service planned at Wangaretta, preacher S. Wertel [hymns, music, and preaching throughout]; people's positive response; swimming; condition of roads; weather; petrol ran out; Yass; late shopping in Goulbourn; welcomed to NSW by a memeber from Singleton; [lodgings, eating and drinking]; "At nearly all our meetings, we found friends who speedily silenced any interjectors" (one of which described); service planned at Manly; description of Paramatta "a large town - almost a suburb of Sydney"; [people encountered, especially from Chursh]; good wishes message from the "Old Country"; New Year hymns; in Sydney, service on the beach, "We created quite a sensation here, it being almost an unheard-of thing [...]"; competition from young men ("Shall we gather at the River") seen off and fighting dogs; reaction to doctrine and good response from audience; ferry; countryside described; adventure on mountainside - precipices; guided into Singleton; [sleeping arrangements]; to Sydney; route, motor, scenery; Bomaderry Creek/ Nowra/Wagonga/Narooma; Orbost "should be a wonderful town to canvas"; "The entry into Buchan is indeed very beautiful"; [distributing leaflets]; Sale; Rosedale; Traralgon; Warrigul; back to "the Sanctuary" in Melbourne.
