4pp., 12mo. Bifolium. In fair condition, on aged and worn paper, with thin strip from previous mount. The letter begins: 'Sir, | I had the honor (a great one) of being presented to you, by Lord Palmerston, and of meeting you at the house of Mr Ellis.' As he was received 'with so much kindness', he ventures to ask the favour of being allowed to be 'present in the Chamber of Deputies, to hear the debate on the address', which he considers 'a discussion of so much interest'. He points out that he is 'a member of the House of Commons', and that he has 'held an important office, in the late government'.
