One page, folio, bifoliate, fold mark, chipping and staining, text clear and complete: "Know all Men by these presents that I Paul Colnaghi of the Parish of Saint James within the City and liberty of Westminster Merchant have made ordained authorised Constituted and appointed and by these presents Do make ordain authorise Consitute and appoint Andrew Sala of the City and liberty of Westminster as aforesaid (but now about to depart for the Continent) my true and lawful Attorney for me and in my Name and to my use to ask demand sue for receive and recover all such sum and sums of Money debts and demands whatsever [sic] which are now due and owing or shall hereafter become due and owing from all persons whatsoever unto the estates of Messrs. Torre & Co. Messrs Molteno Colnaghi & Co. and the said Paul Colnaghi & Co. [insert - "all of the City of Westminster as aforesaid"] and in default of Payment on account of the personal estates of the said Messrs. Torre & Co. Messrs Molteno Colnaghi & Co. and the said Colnaghi & Co. to have use and take all lawful ways and means in my name or otherwise for the recovery by attachment distress or otherwise and on receit [sic] thereof aquittances [sic] or other discharges for the same and in my name to make Seal and deliver and to do all lawful acts and things Concerning the premises as fully and in every respect as I myself might or could do if personally present and an Attorney or Attorneys under him for the purposes aforesaid to make and at his Pleasure to revoke Hereby ratifying and Confirming all and watsoever [sic] my said Attorney shall in my name lawfully do or cause to be done in an about [inserted] the presmises by virtue of these presents in Witness whereof I have hereunto set my Seal this seventh day of July One thousand Seven hundred and ninety eight./ Paul Colnaghi--."
