He has learned that his correspondent is planning an English translation of his "Handel" and asks for a copy to be sent to him at a certain address. He then adds a postscript longer than the note in which he expresses regret that Eaglefield-Hull did not obtain permission ("warrant" [?]) since he would probably have made additions/corrections ("apporter des variants assez importantes au texte"). "Mon Haendel publie chez [Alcan [underlined] n'etait qu'un resume, plus concis que j'aurais voulu, d'un cours de deux ans [professe?] a la Sorbonne sur Haendel; et [?] du cadre m'avait force a laisser de cote des chapitres plus vivantes . . ."
