2pp, 4to. Very good on lightly-aged paper. Docketed by Luke at head of first page. Having received Luke's letter of 5 October, Wilkinson reports that 'Mrs. [Freya] Stark is at present on a tour of south-western Anatolia, visiting places like Halicarnassus, Cnidus, Loryma, Telmissus, Xanthus and so forth. She is, I believe, having the time of her life, and in her last letter to me she said that she was going through a world of beauty and enchantment.' Wilkinson forwards all of Stark's correspondence, and although Luke's letter to her would have been among this, he will 'write to her to-day and transmit your message which I know will disappoint her'. In the final part of the letter Wilkinson commends Luke on his 'remarkable memory' in remembering that he stayed with Wilkinson's uncle 'at Aghia Triadha in 1913'. He gives family details, and hopes to have the pleasure of meeting Luke 'when you come to Turkey in 1953 ("inshallah")'.
