Both items in good condition, on lightly-aged paper, with Item One carrying the stamp and shelfmarks of the Board of Education Library. Item One ('Brief Statement): 4pp., 12mo. Bifolium. Decorative cover with line of heraldic shields with axes. Describes the Order in six numbered points, Describes its promotion of 'A Physical Renassance' and of 'A Civic Renaissance', both in seven points. In conclusion, the Order is said to seek to promote 'the recapitulatory or woodcraft type of education as the first and basic step on the road to progress, and a scheme of civic education as a means of further realising the true civilisation of the future.' Item Two ('The Woodcraft Movement'): 4pp., 12mo. Bifolium. Begins with reference to Seton ('the eminent American Naturalist') as founder, and then describes what 'Woodcraft Chivalry' is. Headings: 'What the Order does', 'How we do it' and 'Where we differ'. Ends with section headed 'Join now.' The reader is invited to send a postcard to 'Dr. A. T. Westlake | 15a Thorburn Square | Bermondsey', whose details are added in manuscript. Both items are scarce: no copy of either in the British Library, and the only copy of Item One on COPAC at Cambridge, and no copies of Item Two on COPAC.
