The receipts are of irregular size, the smallest being 2 inches by 6 inches, and the largest 10 inches by 7 inches. The collection in very good condition overall with only a few items affected by slight spotting, creasing, fraying and discoloration from age. Occasional interesting information on the working of the rural artisan in the itemisation of some of the receipts. Item 1: cancelled receipt for rent, October 1791, from Holland Cookesey [in fact Holland Cooksey, father of Mrs Yeates, author of 'Eliza, a novel', 1800], signed by William Moseley on behalf of the school governors; on reverse, receipt for salary, November 1793, signed by R. Willets. Item 2: itemised receipt for work by the late Joshua Brettell, 1791, signed by Joshua Edwards. Item 3: receipts, 1791-2 ('for Ceiling of <?> house in the Garden, viz Laths, Mortar, joints & workmanship') and 1794 ('for work done'), both signed by J. Pattinson. Item 4: itemised receipt for 'jobs to school', 1792, signed by Henry Richards. Item 5: itemised receipt for 'Work done at the freescooll [sic]', 1792, signed by Joshua Edwards.
