English book collector (1784-1833), Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries, whose library was auctioned by Robert Harding Evans in 1832 and 1833. One page, 4to. In good condition, with remains of stub adhering to one edge. He considers his correspondent's 'desire to dedicate one of the plates in your invaluable Work on Westminster Abbey to me, as a very great compliment, at the same time I think you might select some name, which might reflect, by the known character of its owner, much more credit upon the dedication -' Ends with graceful endorsement of the work, 'which has employed so long, your time & abilities, & which has been executed with so much credit to yourself & satisfaction to your Subscribers'. Signed 'Jno Broadley.' Postscript 'I do not live at Hull, | but at South Ella | about five miles from Hull'.
