Pamphlet, 8pp., 8vo, not bound, some faint foxing. William Tayler outlines the experiences he had during the Mutiny when he feeels he reacted to events with greater prescience than Halliday, the Lieut.-Governor of Bengal. Halliday, however, was rewarded for his mistakes and Tayler maligned. He seeks "public recognition of his achievements, quoting distinguished supporters. I have traced no other copy of this item (COPAC, BLC) but note that Tayler published a "A first hand account of the insurrection of 1857"in 1858 (Nisbet - not record by COPAC or BLC Online) and the " Memoirs of William Tayler", ed. Chaturbhuj, were eventually published in 1990.
