1p., 4to. Good, on lightly-aged paper. Warre repeats what he has already told Gye, that 'nothing has given me greater pleasure than the news of your recent appointment, though we will miss you in London'. He has been asked 'by those members of staff of the Commission' whom Gye has 'greatly helped in their work over many years' to 'express to you the pleasure which the news of your promotion has also given to them, and they ask to be allowed to wish you every success.' Gye was the son of Ernest Gye and the opera singer Dame Emma Albani, and the grandson of the manager of Covent Garden Frederick Gye.
