3pp., 12mo. Bifolium. In good condition. Casting interesting light on the workings of the British parliament in the Regency period. Headed by Abbot 'Private'. Docketed on reverse of second leaf, presumably by Sidmouth: 'The Speaker, | Novr. ye. 19th: 1806. | Lord Harris's Proposal | Meeting of Parliament | &c -'. He has received Sidmouth's note, and reports that 'Lord Harrowby wrote me a full account of your Meetings on Lord Harris's proposals'. Addington has his 'full concurrence in postponing its further Consideration', and Abbot has 'satisfied Lushington that his Father-in-Law should mend his Offer, by proposing a decorated Tenant for the whole length of his House & Offices, according to what Lord Harrowby has suggested'. Having received his 'new Alamach' he has been 'set [...] right', and suggests 28 November as 'better than any other day in that week for opening the Session'. He refers to John Hatsell, Clerk of the House of Commons, who is 'now 83 - complete, & means next Spring to publish a new Edition of his Parliamentary Work - with his final corrections'. He concludes by suggesting arrangements for a visit to Sidmouth's estate at Richmond Park, while travelling to London for the opening of parliament.
