Crisply printed on one side of a piece of laid paper (27.5 x 15.5 cm) with watermark 'C ANSELL | 1854'. Margins trimmed. The Christ's Hospital crest at head. Fair, on lightly-aged paper, with minor evidence of previous mounting on the reverse. Twenty-six lines of text. Addressed to 'Worshipful Sir', who has been 'Nominated, Approved, and Appointed a Governor of CHRIST'S HOSPITAL'. Sets out the responsibilities of the new governor, so that 'This Work may have its Perfection, and that the Number of Helpless Infants committed to your Care may be carefully kept, diligently attended and instructed, and wholesomely maintained; and, promising to do this, you are now admitted a Member of This Court.
