Twenty-seven items in paper folder with printed (not duplicated) cover: '"If the trumpet give an uncertain sound who shall prepare himself to the battle" | General History of Ninth Corps | Field B.N.A.F. 29th May, 1943.' The collection is in fair condition, with rust staples from paper clips and other signs of age and wear. The presence of matter including the manuscript originals of maps makes it clear that the collection derives from Campbell himself. The following description divided into six items. ONE: Duplicated typescript: 'GENERAL HISTORY OF 9 CORPS'. 10pp., 8vo. Anonymous.

Note in secretarial hand signed by Antonelli to "Miss E.R. Brown" (address given) and to which Pius IX has added a signed religious sentiment.

One page, 4to, good condition, note in French with a translation (poor condition) tipped on to the edge of the letter. The note says (in the translation) "The offering that you presnted to the Holy Father on the occasion of the 14th of this month was very favourably received. His Holiness as a witness of his pleasure has deigned to write with his own hand at the bottom of your letter some consoling words. I return it to you there fore with this example of the Pontifical good-will, assuring you of my esteem with which I remain / J.
