4pp., 12mo. Bifolium. In good condition, on lightly-aged paper. She apologises for troubling her 'with a few very important questions referring to the Biarritz life. I mean the Butcher's shop at Bayonne you spoke to the Baron about. Where does the dear man live? Also how have you settled to keep the meat fresh?' She asks for instructions so that she may inform her cook, 'a German who speaks a few words of french & a sort of nigger English'. She continues in a similar vein, asking a questions about 'vegetables butter, eggs, milk & all necessary utensils for the household' and 'a cheap flowershop'. She asks for the answer to be sent to her at Hampton Court. Her journey had to be 'arranged according to the Queen [sic] wishes', but 'Luckily for Miss Hicks one of the Ladies of the Committee vrote [sic] & begged Princess Beatrice to be present instead of me & so everything was changed at once'.
