War correspondent and novelist. One page, 4to, one small stainn not affecting text, mainly good condition. A positive and pleasant response to a request for an autograph. He has given a more formal autograph in the bottom left hand corner.

Educational pioneer and poet. (Letter) one page, 8vo, good condition. "If you think my autograph worth possessing you are heartily welcome to a specimen of it. I have copied out and signed a sonnet which I wrote many years ago. Here it is. [PRESENT] / The lines which you quote in your letter come from a little poem which I wrote between 50 and 60 years ago when I was a school inspector in the West Riding (Halifax and Huddersfield region)". WITH: one page, 8vo, good condition, 14 lines of verse signed "Edmond Holmes" headed "From a Sound-Sequence called 'The Silence of Love'".

Editor of "Portraits ef the Nobility" and "Portraits of the children of the nobility" (1838). Three pages, 4to, small tears on folds but good condition. She promises Miss Therrison some autographs [perhaps the poets she edited for the above-mentioned book?] and declines an invitation on behalf of her son. She finds her current home "salubrious" for her children and herself. "John likes his occupations here and has received the most flattering letters of approval from the D. of Rutland." She concludes with the cold weather there and in Hampstead.
