SPURGEON, whose name and sermons are well known wherever the English language is spoken, was born at Kelvedon, in Essex, on June 19th, 1834.' Recounts how Spurgeon was, 'From about eleven years of age, [...] in deep distress of soul'. Scarce: no copy on COPAC or in the British Library.
