Begins: 'A meeting of the friends and admirers of the Hob'ble D. F. Carmichael, of the Madras Civil Service, was held in a Shamiana, on the grounds attached to "The Mansion," the residence of the Hon. Rajah Gujapathi Row, Nungumbakum, on Sunday evening last, to consider what steps should be taken to do fitting honor to the hob'ble gentleman on the eve of his departure from this Presidency.' The pamphlet gives an account of the meeting, with a list of those present, including a transcription of a letter from the Dewan of Poodoocottah to Muttuswami Iyer, and a report of speeches by the Maharajah of Vizianagram, the Rajah of Pittapur, the Rajah the Hon'ble G. N. Gajapathy Row, Sir T. Madhava Row. Sections on 'The Club Dinner to Mr. Carmichael', 'The Native Ladies Entertainment to Mrs. Carmichael' and 'The Carmichael Entertainment'.
