The answer to the question posed at the head is given as: 'Because the "Daily Worker" is the only paper which fought against all cuts, and particularly because it stood by the sailors of the Atlantic Fleet in their fight against wage cuts.' (The reference is to the Invergordon Mutiny of 1931.) There follow, in bold, the five points of the newspapers 'programme', including 'Not a Penny off the "Dole." Not a man off the Roll.' There follows an explanation of the 'reason YOU should defend' the newspaper, and an appeal to 'Give to its Fighting Fund! Build up its Circulation! Buy a copy regularly yourself and get copies for your mates!' Beneath a dotted line at the foot is an order for 'your newspaper', under which is the printer's slug. Scarce: no copy on COPAC. The Daily Worker was relaunched as the Morning Star in 1966.
