He is 'very anxious to discuss', with Bilainkin and the Jewish Board of Deputies, 'the Appeal which [...] is in progress on behalf of the Central British Fund for Jewish Relief and Rehabilitation'. The second paragraph reads: 'The need of our surviving brethren is great and the projects which the Central British Fund has undertaken, such as the bringing of children to this country for re-training and emigration, the provision of food, clothing and medicaments for those on the Continent, and the sending of relief personnel to the Continent, call for a large sum of money.' He invites him to 'a fork luncheon' at Woburn Hall, 'during the luncheon interval of the Board of Deputies' meeting'. Before the war Rothschild had headed the Emigration (Planning) Committee of the Council for German Jewry, helping Jews to leave Germany.
