He apologises that they 'do not happen to have one ready-made of Seoul', and he asks Richardson to return it 'when you have made use of it in the review of Mrs Bishop's book in the 'Vegetarian' magazine.

To take him to 1237 in the first volume would spoil the completeness of what we feel should be a one-volume biography.' He adds in manuscript: 'I hope we will not prove too unwieldy.'
