Giving details of a proposed trip to London, to be made 'if the weather be such as in my state of health will allow me with safety to leave home', on which he hopes to call on Walton 'in order to see your pictures'. Evelyn played an important role in the creation of Deptford Park, and used land from his ancestor John Evelyn's Sayes Court estate as a recreation ground for his Deptford tenants.
