123pp., folio. Paginated. In contemporary brown tooled calf, with two metal clasps, and a metal ring at foot of rear board. Internally good and tight, on aged paper, in worn binding. A fair copy, neatly written out in a mid-eighteenth-century chancery hand, with the body of text on each page bordered by two vertical red lines. The Free Grammar School of King Edward VI in Berkhamsted was founded by John Incent, Dean of St Paul's, in 1541.

Greene's Note: Dated 2 December 1915; on letterhead of The School House, Berkhamsted. 12mo, 1 p, on compliments slip. Fair on lightly-aged paper, with one dogeared corner. He is enclosing the prospectus and will be pleased 'to show you over or give you any further information'. Prospectus: 8vo, 37 pp. On art paper. In original printed cream wraps. Internally sound and clean, with lightly-rusted staples and slightly-discoloured wraps. Nineteen photographs covering twenty-two full pages, including 'Physics Laboratory', 'Upper Carpenter's Shop', 'Dynamo', 'Corps', 'Baths'.

12mo: 3 pp. Very good. He hopes Cooke's son has 'conveyed to you our hope that you would be able to accompany him to Ashlyns [Longman's country house, Ashlyns Hall, Berkhampsted] next week'. 'The weather is now getting all right & I hope it will be quite summer weather when your son - & you? - come.' Doesn't suppose Cooke has 'had time to look out any drawings to experiment on'.
