15pp., 8vo. On twelve leaves torn from an album. With minor emendations, and an essay in another hand on some reverses. Unpublished. The piece begins: 'My collection of catalogues has grown much in the same way as other collections of books. At times I have got rid of many I missed later on and it was only by long experience I found that some things are desirable. First it is better to have each sale bound by itself and this I have carried out except where some association in an existing bound volume would have been destroyed.

32pp., foolscap 8vo. The leaves attached with green ribbon, and the whole folded into the customary packet, with typed title with Hasties' details on reverse of last leaf. The document begins with a three-page 'Index | Inventory of Buckminster Park, Grantham'; this is followed by 'An Inventory and Valuation of the principal Furniture and Works of Art at Buckminster Park, Grantham | the property of the Trustees, made for the purposes of Insurance'. The total valuation is £17,692.

In 1925 Mann encountered the Nuremberg bookseller Ida Herz: a lifelong friendship followed, which was, according to Mann's biographer Anthony Heilbut, 'motored largely by her phenomenal devotion'. The present collection, comprising items, is in good condition, lightly aged and worn. (Seven leaves from Hamilton's letters have tearing to margins resulting in slight loss to text, and three leaves have damp-staining.) At the time the items were written Herz was living at 95 Gilling Court, Belsize Grove, London. Hamilton's letters total: 16pp., 4to.; 30pp., 8vo; 1p., 12mo.
