On one side of 9 x 11 cm piece of paper. In good condition, on lightly-spotted paper. Reads: 'I shall keep your clever little ode. Congratulations and good wishes. | Len. Harvey. | Cruiser & Heavyweight Champion | Jan. 1934.'

Print: 16.5 x 12 cm. Plate: 19 x 16.5 cm. Paper: 21.5 x 20 cm. In fair condition: aged and worn, with 8cm closed tear unobtrusively repaired on reverse. Depicts Figg and another with weapons on a platform, with a crowd looking on from pit and gallery. Text reads: 'James Figg | Master of ye Noble Science of Defence | on ye right hand in Oxford Road | near Adam & Eve court teaches Gentle- | men ye use of y[e] small backsword & |Quarterstaff at home & abroad'. Copy in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, whose description provides information.

128pp., 16mo. In good condition, on lightly-aged paper, in shiny yellow printed wraps with slight staining at head of front cover. The twelve-page 'Biographical Sketch' covers pp.3-16. It quotes the Rev. Baptist W. Noel as saying that Weaver 'has been preaching at Sheffield, and other towns, to multitudes of working men [...] he was, at one time, addicted to prize-fighting, and that he was never beaten in his life.

In poor condition, on stained art paper. Foreword ('Boxing as a science') with facsimile of Corbett's signature on p.23. The other 48 full-page photographic illustrations are present, including three portraits of Corbett ('Gentleman Jim' and 'Pompadour Jim), James J. Jeffries ('Champion of the World'), Fitzsimmons and Jeffries, John L.

The flong is 31.5 x 19 cm. Stamped on reverse 'LIGHT'S - "IDEAL" | HAND CASTING | DRY STEREO FLONG'. Small triangle missing from the top left-hand corner, causing the loss of the first letter of the first line (the 'P' in 'PRINTERS'); apart from that text clear and complete. Top right-hand corner slightly dogeared, crease along one rule, and thin strip of wear at foot (not affecting text). An interesting piece of printing ephemera.
