One page, sm. Folio, bifolium, staining but text clear and complete. It is a letter from a lawyer or Chancery official by the name of Richard Curelys, addressed to 'the worshipful John Sothwell, esquyr'. Richard informs John that he has sought writs of Supersedeas and Dedimus potestatem from the Lord Chancellor, but that these will not be granted unless John's attorney and the plaintiff's attorney both make declaration of the truth of the (unspecified) matter. Richard provides legal advice. He tells John to cause Mr.

On piece of paper roughly half an inch by one and a half wide. Poor, and untidily laid down on slip of paper one inch by six wide. Tear across signature. Docketed in pencil 'author of book on Reformation'. Extraneous matter adhering to reverse.

Offprint of pp.247-77. Small 8vo. 4 plates, 3 of them folding. Foxed, loose copy with closed tear and crease to first leaf. In original light-brown printed wraps, which have become detached.. Presentation copy, with inscription to 'Mr. Edward Lynam from the writer' on front wrap. Manuscript annotation in pencil, presumably by Lynam.
