Internally in good condition, on lightly-aged paper, in heavily-worn wraps. The story is set among race-horse trainers in Ballinasloe in 1936. There is a curious example of typewriter slippage in the last line but three on the last page: '[...] and the woods and 5h3 5o2nw in 2hifh h3 hqe wp3n5 hiw lir3. Qne [...]'.

16pp., 8vo. Complete publication, unstapled and unbound. Unopened (i.e. with the pages unseparated). On the usual high-acidity newspaper stock, brittle and aged, with chipping to outer margins. The first page carries a poem title 'Ireland, 1914', by Padraic Colum. Other contributors include Joseph Plunkett and Professor T. M. ('Tom') Kettle. The final page carries an article by M. J. Judge titled 'A Nation's Destiny. Arms Are The Arbiters', and an illustrated piece on 'First Aid'. The newspaper was published between 1914 and 1916.

4to bifolium (27.5 x 18.5 cm): 3 pp. 300 copies only. In fair condition: a little grubby, with a couple of light folds and slight wear to extremities. Hand-coloured illustrations on first (4.5 x 7.5 cm) and second (6 x 7.5 cm) pages; full-page black and white illustration ('Marionettes') on third page. Final page blank.
