On one side of a piece of wove paper roughly 220 x 280 mm. Good, on lightly aged and creased paper, with a few short closed tears to extremities. Cheaply but effectively printed in a variety of point sizes. Reads '£1 REWARD | LOST, on Monday Evening, December 16, either on the Motor-bus between Oxford and Witney, or in Witney, A Lady's Gold Wrist-Watch & Bracelet | Engraved on the back, P.E.B., Dec. 28, 1921. | A Reward of £1 will be paid to anyone bringing the same to the Police Station at Witney, or to the County Police Station, New Road, Oxford.'

All five items good, on lightly aged and slightly dusty paper. A couple of with a little rust staining from a paperclip. Text clear and entire. Wrapped in a grubby and frayed piece of covering paper, bearing the title. ONE: Typed Letter Signed (one page, folio) from the Chief Clerk to the Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis to John A. D. Milne, Town Clerk of Shoreditch, on New Scotland Yard letterhead, dated 28 May 1913.

At the Old Bailey Sessions of 16 May 1833 Peacock stated 'I am brother to the solicitor of the Post-office. I assist him in his business'. Thirty-four pages, quarto. Unbound and crudely stitched. Grubby and with stains to first and last leaves. Apparently unpublished, but with a few pencil emendations. Each item initialed at the end by Peacock. First account begins 'Mrs. Rawlinson, the wife of a Merchant in the City, resided at Brixton in the County of Surry - She had in her employ a Servant Girl named Mary Burton, [...]', and ends 'Mrs.

Two pages, 3 x 8", sl. soiled buy mainly good condition. He encloses "the precepts [not present] which he had printed at "Pratts" [printer] and in which he made a correction. He also encloses [PRESENT] "notices to be given by the respective constables to the Innkeepers and labelled then for the different townships soo that you will only have to enclose them inside your precepts to the constables of the townships as laabelled . . . The jury lists will leave to be delivered as stated in the cards . . .

Head Constable of Liverpool. He discusses the prospect of Johnson being appointed Chief Constable of Lancashire, promising instruction and a place inat his office. He praises his active nature and describes the high opinion which "distinguished officers" have of him.

Items as follows: a. (Printed) "Memorandum of Suggestions for Use of Special Constables", 4pp., 8vo, foxing, some wear by complete, also detailing the "Legal Powers & Duties of Constables for suppressing and preventing Riots and Disurbances of the Peace", concluding "Metropolitan Police Office, Whitehall Place, March 8th, 1848"; b. (Printed) "Special Constables, Kensington", one page, 15 x 9.5", fold marks and other signs of wear, but good. Also headed with statement "In consequence of the intended withdrawal of the Police from the Parish of St.

Journalist and police magistrate ((1818-1891). One page, 8vo. He invites him to dinner. "The Grimstones and Toole are coming - and others whom I dare say you know". He asks for the response to be sent to the Police Court at Marlborough Street.
