xii + 125pp., 8vo, with a further three-page advertisement for the author's ''Twixt Earth and Stars' at rear. Errata slip. In green cloth gilt, with top edge gilt and green ribbon bookmark. A good copy, with light signs of age and wear, and discoloration to two pages and the errata slip from five newspaper cuttings placed between them, dating from between 1945 and 1984, and relating to the author and her circle. Six copies on COPAC, but now uncommon.

Signed photograph of the English contralto Marguerite D'Alvarez.

The photograph, by 'V & Co.', is roughly 8.5 x 14 cm, printed in blue. Apparently cut from a magazine, it is laid down on a leaf of pink paper taken from an autograph album. It is captioned with d'Alvarez's name, and shows her left profile. Across the bottom, in a sprawling hand, she has written 'Sincerely | D'Alvarez | Oct 20th'. On the reverse of the leaf on which the photograph is laid down are three autographs: the first reads 'With all my good wishes | ', the second 'Adela Verne | Oct. 20th. 1921', and the third 'Milan Yovanovitch Bratza | 20/10/21 | Stoke-on-Trent'.

Both items in very good condition: on lightly aged and creased paper. Both in French.

Extensive transcriptions from the Countess of Blessington's correspondence, the writers ranging from Mrs Abell ('Napoleon's pet English child at St. Helena') to Nathaniel Parker Willis.
