He is sorry to hear of the recipient's 'uneasienes', and that he is unable to attend on him, as he is 'oblidged to goe sie the Lady Mackerston's daughter in the afternoon'. If he can, he will wait on him on the following morning, as he suspects there may be 'a tendency to your Ague'.

Certificate, 33 x 28cm, small closed tears, some minor creasing, edges dusted, mainly good condition. Headed "St Bartholomew's Hospital", top half occupied by W.H. Toms engraving of a view of St Bartolomew's in toto, beneath which Lawrence has written the dates of his "Practice" as above. This is followed by printed statement "We the Principal Surgeons of this Hospital Certify that [Jas. William Ilott in MS] has diligently attended Practice thereof [24 in MS] Months.

Seven items, all in very good condition on lightly-aged paper. Trevelyan's idiosyncratic and hypochondriacal character comes through strongly in this correspondence, ostensibly concerned with his application to become a magistrate, but largely devoted to the state of his health. Folio, 8 pp, paginated 385-392. Text clear and complete. On aged paper with fraying and chipping to extremities. With tax stamp. Printed in three columns, and with the article on Hone covering the entire front page, and more than half of the second page. The reports of the three trials, in smaller type, cover more than three pages, from the last column on the second page to the last colum on the fifth page. They are followed by half a column of 'excellent observations' taken from the Morning Chronicle.

12mo: 2 pp. 18 lines of text. Good. Reporting that 'Mr. Hancock our President' has 'paid such a well deserved eulogium to your honoured sire in his Hunterian Oration published fully in "the Medical Times & Gazette" of last Saturday'. Stone was 'much moved by it', and said to himself 'how pleased I should have been, had his children been present to hear and see how well it was rec[eive]d.' Makes a Latin quotation that has been 'truly [...] said of your noble father'. Skey is not mentioned by name, but the item is from the Skey family archives.
