(three from the Phillipps collection and one from the library of Dr John Dee), as well as a number of lots in the catalogue priced and named by him. In good condition, lightly-aged. As a young man Meyerstein worked in the Department of Manuscripts at the British Museum, and he remained a notable collector, bequeathing a Mozart manuscript to the Museum.

[2] + 77pp., small 4to. A good tight copy, on lightly-aged paper, with foxing to pp.40-41. In original lightly-worn grey paper boards, with white printed labels on cover and spine. Autograph correction by Meyerstein on p.72. Meyerstein's autograph presentation poem is on the front free endpaper, and is dated by him, in decorative style, to 1949.

An interesting collection of typographical ephemera. ONE: Landscape 8vo wood engraving, captioned 'This illustration, entitled "Psyche in Charon's Boat," was engraved on wood by William Morris from a design by Edward Burne-Jones and forms one of a series in illustration of the story of Cupid and Psyche in "The Earthly Paradise." It is proposed to issue one or two of these designs, which have never been published, though one of them formed the frontispiece to the "Note on the Kelmscott Press" by Mr. S. C. Cockerell.' In good condition, on lightly-aged paper.

In worn and spotted wraps. 2 cm closed tears to back wrap and outer margins of last two leaves. Pencil note on inside of back cover that a copy of the same item sold by Hodgkins for £30 in March 1986. From the collection of the Scottish anarchist author H. T. Derrett, and with his ownership inscription and date on front wrap. Illustrated.

Quarto. Unpaginated (circa 240 pages?). 1789 lots. Numerous plates. Good, in worn contemporary olive cloth binding, with black label. Front wrap, printed in black and red, bound in at rear. Most lots priced in manuscript. Many fine bindings, privately printed, association and Kelmscott Press items. Preceded by four-page Prefatory Note giving a resume of the collection.

Six pages, 8vo, water-stained but texts clear and complete. Much of the letters are concerned with elements of his executorship of the will of William Morris - (and trusteeship). In the letter to May he begins by expressing relief that "the Horace [book or manusript] was safe", then discussing a payment of £785 due to her (she adds the comment "About £785 due to me" in pencil at the end) and the payment due to Jenny. "When we were at Kelmscott I explained ot her that all claims contracted after Jan.26 would be payable by your father's executors.
