Regarding Neale's 'Views of the Seats of Noblemen and Gentlemen in England, Wales, Scotland, and Ireland', which was published in parts, with a total of 732 plates) in two series totalling 11 vols between 1819 and 1829. Gardiner writes that he has been 'commanded by The Prince Leopold to ascertain the number of volumes in which it is proposed to compleat Mr.

ONE: (Queen Alexandra's card): With Buckingham Palace letterhead and mourning border. In fair condition, on lightly-aged paper. The card reads: 'I wish to express my heartfelt thanks to all the kind Donars, [sic] of the beautiful wreaths & flowers which were sent as tokens of affection in memory of our beloved King'. TWO (Streatfeild's letter): Signed 'Henry Streatfeild | <?> | Equerry'. 2pp., 12mo. On the first leaf of a bifolium with mourning border. In envelope with printed crown and mourning border, addressed by Streatfeild to 'Mrs. Macdougall-Rawson | Millhouse | Halifax'.

2pp., 12mo. In good condition, on lightlhy-aged paper. In reply to a letter from the anonymous male recipient Legge writes: 'Mr. Russell was commanded to attend at Windsor Castle by the German Emperor with the approval of the King and though permission was afterwards given to publish the photograph you will readily see that no such statement as appeared should have been published without authority - incorrect as it was'.

18 long letters, totalling 106pp., 4to, and 2pp., 8vo. Fourteen signed 'Seymour Fortescue' and four 'Seymour F'. Three with the year stated by Fortescue, ten others dated in pencil in another hand. The image is 9 x 5.5 cm, mounted on brown card, 10.5 x 6.5 cm, printed on both sides in red, with large facsimile of Disdéri's signature on reverse. In fair condition, somewhat aged. Page is shown seated at a table with a sculpture of a stag on it, with legs cross and the sole of his left show showing, smoking a pipe. In addition to being an MP, Paget held several positions in the Royal Household, acting as Equerry to Queen Victoria from 1837 to 1841. The present image is not among the four representations of Paget in the National Portrait Gallery collection.

British soldier and courtier (1888-1969), Equerry and Groom of the Robes to King George VI and Queen Elizabeth II. Both letters written in capacity as Private Secretary to the Duke of York. Both very good, though grubby, docketed and bearing the Society's stamp. LETTER ONE (one page, 12mo): 'Further to your letter of September 20th., which the Duke of York has had under his consideration, His Royal Highness desires me to tell you that he will be very pelased to be present at the Meeting at which Mr. Robert Hyde will read a paper, on February 7th. 1934.
