Subtitle: 'Printed for the Irish National Society for Women's Suffrage, upon the motion of The Right Hon. Lord Talbot de Malahide, at a General Meeting of the Society held February 21st, 1872.' 18pp., 8vo. In good condition, lightly-aged, no wraps, disbound. The only copy on COPAC (other than surrogates) at the LSE, with three copies of an 1873 edition. No copy on OCLC WorldCat. Note: "The National Society for Women's Suffrage was the first national group in the United Kingdom to campaign for women's right to vote.

On one side of the lower part of a leaf, measuring 10 x 12.5 cm. In fair condition, on lightly aged paper. Reads: '[...] have much pleasure in seeing you on Thursday Evening | Yours Very Truly | Isa Craig'.

With nine full-page photographic views ('Cherwell Hall - South East View', 'The Gateway', 'Cherwell Hall - The South Lawn', 'Porch at Front Door', 'The Entrance Hall', 'The Library, Cherwell Hall', 'The Iris Walk', 'A View in the Grounds, Cherwell Hall, showing Magdalen Tower', 'Cherwell Hall, The Oak Room'). In cream wraps printed in green. In good condition, on lightly-aged paper. Shelfmark, stamp and label of the Board of Education Reference Library. Can be roughly dated from the fact of the College's principal being Catherine I.

3pp., folio. Bifolium. In good condition, on lightly aged and worn paper. Signed 'Isabella Hankey' and witnessed by 'John fforster Carey Street'.

Both items in fair condition, lightly-aged and worn. Severin Wielobycki's letter is 1p., 12mo. On the recto of the first leaf of a bifolium. It reads: 'Dear Madam. | I am much delighted that you take interest in my brother; all friends of his are of the same opinion tat he has been treated very unjustly. I hope your influence will if not relieve him, at any rate shorten his horrible sentence. | I beg to enclose two copies of the document according to your request' (only one copy present). The report of 'Dr Wielobycki's Trial' is 1p., 4to, on grey paper, in two columns of small print.

On two skins, with the usual seals and tax stamps, and further text and signatures on the reverse of the first skin, including a witnessed receipt for £450 from Knight; also a memorandum, 2 August 1853, 'Exparte The right Honorable Anne Isabella Baroness Noel Byron Widow', 'Before me | Wm. Cowdell. | A Master Extraordinary in Chancery'. The first skin carries a plan of the property (8 acres 3 rods 33 perches), to the west of the East Shilton road to Stapleton, and of Wigstones Farm, Stapleton and Kirkby Lordship, and with the road from Barwell to Kirby going through it, coloured in green.

1p., 4to. Good, on lightly-aged paper. Addressed to 'Mrs. G. R. Alden, 425 Embarcadero Road, Palo Alto, Calif.' Badger confirms that he has received 'the manuscript of "Nell Jenkins" and "Her Own Way"', and his firm has been 'considering the publication of the book very carefully'.

Lower part of letter with ruled border, laid down on part of leaf from autograph album. Dimensions: 7.5 x 18.5 cm. Lightly aged and ruckled. Reads: '<...> your support at the approaching Election for the County of Durham - having for so long possessed the confidence of this County, it is his utmost ambition to have it continued and should he be honoured with yours, it will be considered the highest obligation | I am Sir | Your faithful Servant | [signed] Ju: Milbank | Seaham | Octr: 27. 1806.' Contemporary ink note reads: '[Lady Milbanke afterwards Lady Noel Milbanke, mother of Lady Byron.]'

4pp., 12mo. Bifolium. Good, on lightly-aged paper. As she 'cut the string' of the parcel, she 'wondered what could possibly come to me from St Andrews', '& lo! these beautiful thoughts in their lovely garb appeared to my delight'. It was wonderful of Miss Grae to 'think of it', and of 'the little girls to make such a beautiful book', the binding of which her husband finds 'admirable & excellent'. She will 'read the charming pages on foggy days such as these'. She wishes that 'these last 3 blacknesses had been spent at St Andrews by all of us'.

Cheque, printed in blue. Good, on lightly-aged paper. Written out for ten pounds and signed 'Ella R. Christie'. With various stamps and perforations, not affecting Topelius's signature. Christie's translation from Topelius, 'Fairy Tales from Finland', was published by T. Fisher Unwin in 1896.

The author identified as the 'Margravine of Anspach' beneath the signature in a contemporary pencil hand. 8vo, 3 pp. Bifolium. Fifty-five lines of text. Clear and complete. Fair, on aged and spotted paper, with remains of stub adhering to the reverse of the second leaf, which is addressed to 'Mrs. Jones'. A characteristic and energetic letter, reminiscent in tone of Jane Austen, showing why the Margravine was held in such high regard by Horace Walpole.

The front of the envelope (dimensions 8.5 x 14.5 cm) cut away. Previously laid down in an autograph album, and with traces of the leaf still adhering to the reverse. On aged and lightly-creased paper. In a firm, neat hand. Reads 'Mr John Ball | 31 Bloomsbury Place'. At the head, in a contemporary hand, 'The writing of Lady Noel Byron, wife of Lord Byron'.

On irregularly shaped piece of paper, roughly 3 x 7 cm, cut around the signature and its double underlining. Good signature, with slight smudging to a couple of letters.
