The collection is in fair overall condition, on aged and worn paper. Not all from the same source (includes stamps of W. H. Both cloth, brown and green, folio, worn and damp-stained, comntents good,. [1906] 52pp., manuscript AND [1910] 44pp, mainly typescript, partly manuscript.[1906] Stock list of Publications Dec. 1906 incl. "American Explorers". David Nutt initially specialized in continental books on classics and religion but the empahasis changed towards folklore, Arthurian Romance and cognate subjects. Among his publications were the "Archaeological Review", early volumes of the Irish Text Society, the Grimm Library, the Northern Library of saga material and the Tudor Library.

The three volumes in folio, in their original printed blue wraps. First Report: viii + 364pp. With fold-out table. Second Report: viii + 276pp. Final Report: x + 157pp. All three aged and worn, with the final signature and back cover of the First Report detached, and the Final Report lacking its back cover, and with front cover detached and damage to last few leaves. Second Report with withdrawn label of Owen College, Manchester. The three volumes all 'With Minutes of Evidence and Appendices'. Containing an enormous quantity of information within the minutes and supporting material.

1p., folio. In fair condition, on aged and worn paper, with slight damage at head from breaking of seal, causing loss of the 'SC' in the heading 'PRICES OF OTTISH STOCKS.' Table in small print, subdivided into sections on Banks, Insurance Companies, Railways, Miscellaneous and English Railways, with columns for: Advanced Capital; Annual Dividend; When Payable; Return per Ct. to Purchaser; Description of Stocks; Shares; Present Selling Prices.

4pp., folio. Originally on a bifolium, but now with the two leaves separated and attached to a white stub from an album. In good condition, on aged and lightly-spotted paper, and trimmed at the head. Laid out in the conventional manner, With the reverse of the final leaf printed in landscape, so that the item can be folded into the customary package.

4pp., foolscap 8vo. Good, on lightly-aged paper. Sections on Tins, Rubbers, Industrials, Yields; with graph and table. Begins: 'Once more the Malayan shares were overshadowed by the gloom in the rubber market. The rubber price which stood at $1.01 1/2 on October 3, continued to slide until at the end of the month it had reached 88 3/4 cents per pound with the bottom still not in sight.' Begins: 'September was a strange sort of month - quiet by recent standards with hte market suspended between shade and shien as bearish and bullish-looking clouds scudded across the scene in jumbled sequence leaving investors and speculators confused and cautious.' 1p., 12mo. Good, on lightly-aged paper, with minor traces of mount to blank second leaf of bifolium. Good, firm signature, with flourish. The letter reads 'Dear Sir | I have recd your favour of April last & am glad so easily to oblige you. - | Truly yours | I. I. Hayes'. Gourtie contributed stock exchange reports to the New-York American.

Both items good, on lightly-aged paper. LETTER: 4to, 2 pp. He is enclosing the 'circular letter recently sent out to all the shareholders of this Company, whose shares are not fully paid', but as Kitson has 'paid in full in advance of calls on the 1000 shares' in his name 'by way of Loan to the Company', he informs him of the sum to be transferred to his account. On 3 April 1889 Kitson's 'loan a/c will be closed and your shares will be fully paid'. CIRCULAR: 4to, 1 p.

All items in good condition, on lightly-aged paper. ONE: Prospectus. Folio, 7 pp. To raise share capital of £230,000. Lists the '13 modern Steam Laundries', four 'Receiving Depots', 'Dyeing and Cleaning Works' and 'recently-established Laundry Supply Stores' the company was being 'formed to acquire as going concerns, and still further develop'. Includes section on 'Advantages of the Amalgamation', auditors' and valuers' reports and memorandum of association. TWO: Application form. Folio, 1 p. Perforated, with 'Bankers' Receipt'. THREE: Publicity flier. Folio, 2 pp.

4to, 1 p. Twenty-six lines. Text clear and complete. On grey paper. Small spike hole. Aged and lightly-creased. Describes the 'forbodings' which have been realised following 'the heavy rains and floods of the previous Autumn'. 'From 2000 to 3000 Pockets have already come to Market, and these are making, in samples of Sussex £8 to £9, the Cut, and in Kents £8. 8/. to £10. 10/. to £12;- mouldy and blighted, much lower. | Nothing choice in East or Mid Kents has, as yet, made its appearance, [...]'.

12mo, 12 pp, and fold-out frontispiece of table showing the 'British National Debt, funded and unfunded, stated in millions of pounds sterling' from 1689 to 1843, with four other columns. Stitched and in original printed wraps. Text clear and complete. Several copies of varying condition. Usually Fair: lightly-aged and creased. Scarce: other than electronic reproductions, COPAC only lists copies of this second edition at the Bodleian and British Library.

Typed and mimeographed. 4to, ii + 86 pp. Bound by metal fasteners into brown card wraps, with the title typed on a white paper label on front, which also carries a library accession stamp dated 26 October 1948. Text clear and complete. Good, on lightly-aged paper. Divided into five main sections: 'Tin Consumption in the U.S.A.', 'Our Relations with Battelle Memorial Institute', 'Summarised Technical Report', 'Detailed Reports of Visits' and 'Miscellaneous Visits', the last being divided into nineteen subsections, beginning with C. Tenant Sons & Co and C. S.

According to the prospectus (item three below), the Bank was 'Incorporated under the Companies' Acts, 1862, 1867, 1877 and 1879.' The three items were formerly pinned together. There are over 6 1/4 million square inches in an acre!
