The collection of sixteen items is in good overall condition, on aged and worn paper. Includes: two lists of 'Messrs. Methuen's Sixpenny Books', one of them dated to 1908; lists for 1912, 1915, 1924 (two), 1934 (two: novels and 'new books'), 1939 (two: one in red of novels, and the other in blue of non-fiction). Also advertisements for: 'The Illustrated Pocket Library of Plain and Coloured Books'; 'The Heather Moon' by C. N. and A. M.

The collection in fair condition, on aged and worn paper. The catalogue stitched and in wraps; the other eight items with rusted staples, and unbound. Items One and Two: Copies of the 'Book Gazette' (both 32pp., small 4to), numbered 8 (October 1896) and 16 (September 1901), and containing Announcements, Literary Notes, and extracts from publications. Items Three to Eight: Six copies of 'Methuen's Monthly Bulletin'. All 8vo, and ranging in length from 20 to 32pp. The earliest of the six (July 1904) with announcement on front cover: 'Messrs.

The first page begins: 'KILLED 425 WOUNDED 1764 | This list of wounded only includes gunshot and bomb wounds. Very many of those kicked almost into pulp in the streets and left for dead are not included here.

Two items, in good condition. ONE: Duplicated typescript (1p., 8vo) headed 'TRANSLATION | MINISTRY OF INTERIOR. | DIRECTORATE GENERAL OF UIDANCE [sic] AND BROADCASTING'. Dated from 'Baghdad (Iraq)' on 11 February 1958. A letter of introduction for 'Mr. G. Wynne-Rushton', to five government ministries from 'Staff Brigadier Muhsen Mohamed Ali, Acting Director General of Guidance & Broadcasting'. Begins: 'Mr. G. Wynne-Rushton, who is now staying in Baghdad, is the Advertising Manager of Messrs.

6pp., 8vo. On three leaves stapled together, with punch holes for ring binder. In good condition, on lightly-aged paper. With 'RESTRICTED' at head and foot of each page. Corps badge at head of first page and six illustrations in text. Divided into 24 sections, with headings: Formation; Early History; The First World War; The Second World War; Post War; Alliances; The Badge; Corps Colours; Dress Distinctions; Corps Day; Official Music; Patron Saint; Corps Motto. Written in a no-nonsense style. For example, the final two sections read: 'Patron Saint | 23.

2pp., 12mo. Good, on lightly-aged paper, with minor spotting. Addressed to 'Dear Sir'. After thanking him for his 'kind letter' he states: 'I do not really make much objection to the republication of my interview. But what I feel is that I should have been asked about it & allowed to see a proof, as the interview took place some time ago now, & the circumstances are not quite the same.' He is glad [Walton] approved of the interview, adding 'I quite appreciate the spirit in which you view the journalistic aspect of affairs'.

96 black and white photographic prints, each cloth-backed and with the landscape dimensions 20 x 25 cm. In black leather loose leaf album by Wilson Jones Co., Kansas City. Stamped in gilt in bottom right-hand corner of first leaf, 'HAROLD C. HARVEY'. The prints are in good condition, curling a little at the fore-edge, and with slight creasing at right-hand margin of the first two. The binding is somewhat worn, but still tight, with the three original metal screws holding the album together.

In a preface dated 'Birmingham, 1894', the author indicates that the preface is intended for the general public, rather than 'the Botanist and Trader'. [1920s]. Pattern in pieces of brown paper, in envelope printed with instructions and illustrations. The envelope also contains an illustrated advertisement for the Blackmore catalogue, on blue paper. ITEM TWO: 'Dolls And How To Make Them' by Winifred M. Ackroyd. At foot of title-page: 'To my fellow workers of the W.V.S. (Girlington Hospital Supplies Depot).

Paper dimensions roughly 33 x 25 cm. The dimensions of the black and white pencil drawing are 30 x 21.5 cm. Very good, on lightly-aged paper. Stamped on otherwise-blank reverse: 'SACCONE & SPEED, LTD | 32, SACKVILLE STREET, | PICCADILLY, W.1'. Initialed 'E. W.' by the artist in bottom right-hand corner. Caption beneath drawing reads 'SILENT TESTIMONY.

The collection of fifty-three Typed Letters Signed and six mimeographed circulars, in various formats, is in good condition on lightly-aged paper, with all texts clear and complete, and with a couple of items with closed tears. Providing an interesting sidelight into workings of the English branch of one of the twentieth-century's leading multinational corporations. Arden's letter (8vo, 1 p), dated 8 April 1955, is addressed to the Rogers' daughter 'Miss J. Rogers'.

Dimensions of paper 23 x 17 cm. White border of 0.25 cm. A little grubby and with slight silvering at base, but overall a very good impression. A striking head and shoulders shot, with a clean shaven young Wall, neatly dressed in evening wear with black bow tie, and wearing a white sailor's hat at an angle, staring straight at the camera, with glossy lips, eyebrows raised and deadpan expression. The words 'Max Wall' printed in bottom left-hand corner. The inscription reads 'To Peggy | Sincere good wishes | [signed] Max Wall | 1932'.

British army officer (1880-1955). One page, folio. Very good. Docketed and bearing R.S.A. stamp. Unusual letterhead for a governmental department of the period. He has not received the letter, which must have been misaddressed. 'Nevertheless, I shall be glad if you will kindly forward me a copy of the Journal with the Advertisement in, and walso the exact quantity of Posters you require.'

African-American entertainer and film actor. Minor parts in at least six films in the 50s and 60s, including Dreamboat and Sweet Charity. The photograph measures roughly seven and a half inches by nine inches. Charming shot of a smiling Radcliffe, besuited and behatted and with hands crossed over knee. Stamp of Lewis of Charing Cross Rd on reverse. Inscription reads 'To you Ken I wish the Best Always and I know you are the coming Champ | Frank Radcliffe'. In postmarked 'PHOTOMAILER' envelope with return address given by Radcliffe as 2468 7th Avenue New York City.
