Disbound, four pages, folio, aged but good, paginated [1]-4, but also numbered in MS. 95-98. The Trinitarian Order was created in France in the C12th to raise funds to ransom crusader and other Christians held by barbarians. This edict from Emperor Joseph II of Austria orders the suppression of this order and the confiscation of its property since the Order's original purpose was no longer valid.

Full Title: His Majesties fuller condescentions to all the propositions sent by a message to the Parliament by Sir Peter Killegrey on Tuesday last, and his gracious message and protestation : with a list of the names of the new honours of Dukes, Marquesses, Earles, and Lords conferred by the King which are to be recalled, and His Majesties further desires to both Houses for his present coming up to London in honour and freedom, and touching delinquents. With added note on titlepage: Dated at Newport 21 Octob., 1648.

Folio, 4 pp. Bifolium. Text clear and complete. On aged and creased paper, with some wear and chipping to extremities. Previously folded into a packet docketed in a contemporary hand 'Answers to Queries'. The first page begins with 'Ansr. 1.', a list of ten ministers, from '1. The Duke of Richelieu President of the Council of Ministers & of the Privy Council & Min: Sec: of State having the Dept. of Foreign Affairs.' and ending with '10. Director general Count Pradel'. P. 1 also features 'Question 2 | Answer A', beginning 'The Members of the Govt.

Folio, 2 pp. 38 lines of text. Clear and complete. Fair, on browned high-acidity paper, with slight chipping to extremities and slight internal wear.To be folded into packet. Docketed 'Recd 22d. October 1855 | [initialed signature] | Doorga Churm Curr - | - v - | Ob Mullick | Letter from Mr Fisher -'. Difficult hand. He acknowledges to various documents relating to the case, as well as 'two Bank of Bengal notes', in a writ of Fieri Facias. Explains his requirements ('I must have one man with me to Gard [sic] my property').

Four pages, 12mo, bifolium, small closed tear on fold, mainly good condition. "It has been represented to me that the Bill of which you have given notice for Tuesday the 8th is of a nature to affect the rights of the Crown in connexion with the Duchy of Lancaster.

Regarding a replacement for 'Mr Coggan', who is resigning the office of Chief Constable for the Isle of Axholme 'at the next Caistor Sessions'. Johnson has been 'for several years & down to the time of the new Commission o[f] peace the only acting Justice in the Isle', and expects 'some Regard' to be paid to his recommendation. He will 'give the Court some reasons which incline me to think that Mr. Gibbison ought to be preferr'd to his Competitor Mr. Gervas'.

4to, 1 p. 7 lines. Clear and complete. Fair on aged and lightly-creased paper. He is returning 'the leaf of your Peerage', which is 'quite correct in the part more immediately concerning me & in all other's [sic] as far as I have observed'. He makes a suggestion regarding Lord James Stuart'.

4to, 2 pp. Fourteen lines. Text clear and complete. Fair, on aged paper neatly repaired with archival tape. Addressed to Barker as 'Collector &c'. Recommending the appointment of 'Colonel Freeman' as 'an Inspector of the Customs for the City of Philadelphia'. Freeman is 'a very active Democrat' and 'a very estimable man'. Should Barker appoint him, he will be 'gratifying the Democrats of the City of Philadelphia & will also oblige - | Yours truly | [signed] J B Sutherland'. In 1844 Sutherland himself received a similar letter from Edgar Allan Poe, recommending Robert Travers.

Indenture, 55 x 35cm, some damage at folds but mainly good, text clear and complete. It gives information about the court including the people who were to enquire into the murder, all of whom have signed the document. The Coroner was John Cattlow. A person unknown had poisoned some bread with white arsenic.

Broadsheet, c.24 x 40cm, fold marks, light foxing, mainly good condition. He sets out his principles in the usual high-flown manner, not identifying with any party.

Striking vellum document, 60 x 75 cm. Docketed on reverse. 32 lines of text, ruled with red lines, with ornate engraved decorative border along three sides, headed in large letters 'Victoria by the Grace of God', and depicting the young Queen, the royal crest, a crown held by a cherub, blind justice, and other images. Tax stamp in margin and frayed ribbon at foot. On 9 September [V Geo.

One page, c.19.5 x 24cm, laid down on larger page, spotted and dulled but attractive, with text and illustration (Glasgow coat-of-arms augmented). Text: (MS in square brackets] No. [9] Glasgow [17th Feby] 17[69] | [William Shortrige (sic) Merchant in Glasgow] is this day admitted a Member pf the GLASGOW RENFREWSHIRE Society, having paid dues accordingly. [John Hamilton] Preses. | [James Shaw] Collector.

Square of paper, neatly torn from letter. Lightly-aged and creased. On one side firm signature ('Yrs truly | Dudley Coutts Stuart'), with docketting at foot ('Lord Dudley Coutts Stuart | "The friend of the Poles" -'). On reverse: '<...> a select Committee - A short time I obtained a return of a memorial presented him to the Court of Directors'.

On a square of paper, circa 10 x 11.5 cm. Aged and lightly-creased. Evidently a reply to a request for an autograph. Bold signature, with the whole reading 'Your's faithfully | Clarendon'. Docketed with a few biographical details on reverse.
