Lacking title-leaf; otherwise with text clear and complete under drop-head title (lacking the initial 'Carta de Junius Lusitanus' which would have been part of the missing title leaf) with Latin motto ('Palmam qui mecuit ferat.'). Disbound. On aged paper with slight wear to extremities. Addressing British Foreign Secretary Palmerston with regard to the United Kingdom's position on the Septembrist Revolt in Portugal in 1846. COPAC and WorldCat only lists three copies: at the British Library, Harvard and King's College London.

Red label of the Board of Education Reference Library on the blank reverse of the last leaf, and shelf-mark at foot of first page. Stitched into modern brown wraps with typed label. Includes the 'Regulations of the Ladies Committee', pp 9-13, and a list of officers and members, pp 14-15, under 'Patroness, Her Majesty. | Vice-Patronesses, Their Royal Highnesses the Princesses. | President. The Right Hon. Lady Teignmouth.' The twenty-seven members, mostly noble, include 'Mrs. Wilberforce'.

The eight proofs, each 24 x 38 cm, some with tissue guards, are bound into a blue folder with triangular printed Burlington Engraving label. In pencil on the folder: 'Connoisseur | April 1937 | German Enamelled Glasses | 4 colour'. In fair condition, on lightly worn and aged paper. The final illustration (first in the folder) shows the six glasses, enamelled in various colours, against a black background.

12mo, 53 + [iii] pp. Text clear and complete. Aged and worn, with loose original front cover, printed in green, remaining from the binding. Stamp of 'The Community of the Resurrection' on title-page. A few manuscript notes in light pencil. Scarce: five copies on COPAC, at the British Library, Oxford, Cambridge, the National Library of Scotland, and University of London, variously dated to 1909 and 1910.

A unique authorial assemblage of excessively scarce items. The nine reports total 344 pp in 8vo. They are bound together (according to a manuscript note) by the Belgian binder Claessens [Art Nouveau binder], who received twenty francs (sixteen shillings) for the job. In brown calf, with marbled endpapers, tooled in black on front cover with Barron's monogram, including a boar and a hand, with the words 'BARRON | REPORTS ON BELGIUM, | 1866 | 1867, 1872, 1873, 1875, 1876, 1879, 1880-82, 1883.' Similar title stamped in black on spine.

12mo, vii + 105 pp. In original cloth quarter-binding of brown spine and blue boards, gilt. Fair, on aged paper, in patchy worn binding with foxed endpapers. With the ownership inscription of the Great Yarmouth solicitor Frederick John Dowsett (author of 'Both Sides of Jewish Character', Westminster Review, 1888). An important and scarce early work in the nineteenth-century resurgence of interest in the subject in the West.

The Landscape-Painter, the Archaeologist, the Botanist, the Historian, will there find ample occupation.

138pp., 12mo, blue cover, corner bumped , some damage to spine, worn edges, but attractive, foxing throughout, slight hinge strain. Author's Preface gives the background to the publication including experiences at the Crimea and his daily round as Post Runner to Yair [Postman, I suppose]. Much includes dialect words, and many are based on personal experiences or current events. He includes a Burns' Centenary Song. COPAC lists copies at NLS, Glasgow and BL. WorldCat adds the University of Guelph.

76pp., cr. 8vo, unbound and stabbed as issued, top edge of first page/title chipped with faint foxing and other minor damage, back cover (also with printed title) partly dusted, item mainly in good condition. Inscribed at the top of the title, faintly, "Received from Mr. Freshfield [presumably the lawyer/MP, JJW Freshfield (DNB)] | 23 Oct. 1862 | [GH?]". This proposed text has been annotated (not extensively) in an unknown hand, and has some differences from the later published version.

Note on The Protestant Alliance: The Protestant Alliance, their principal aim is to educate and warn the general populous of the errors of Romanism.

Four folding leaves (6 pages of print, probably mimeographed or similar), 12mo, unpaginated but apparently complete, one staple, illustrated cover with title as above, damage to spine, closed tears, contents good, two minor changes (including imitate changed to mitigate). Two galleries are mentioned in the text (containing works), the Wavertree Gallery, Bowring Gallery, and the Prince George Gallery. Wavertee suggests Liverpool, but I aait ilumination as to place. However the only copy recorded on COPAC and WorldCat finds itself in Cardiff (minimally described).

Sargeant's Machine for raising water') and . folding frontis (diagram, 'Improvements by Henry Witmer upon Anderson's Patent Condensing Tub'), small closed tear, attractive contemporary tree calf, red leather label, corners bumpedtop and bottom of spine also, other signs of wear browned and foxed throughout (reason given later), hinge strain front and back (with failed attempt to repair from with tape), ownership notes on endpapers, slightly damaged, else very good. INSCRIBED "Harrison Hall" (Author) on front pastedown.

Reproduction of early engraving on first page, vignette of country scene on last page, three illustrations of tools and a further thirteen numbered figures in text. Text and images clear and complete. Publishing details, with price of '1/2d' printed upwards along inner margin of last page. On aged paper, with slight damage to the margin of the first leaf. This single issue scarce: no copy on COPAC. Chambers Miscellany was originally published between 1844 and 1847.

8vo, 24 pp. Printed on yellow paper. In fair condition, slightly dog-eared and with rust-staining to last leaf. With photographs, advertisements, cartoon and poem. Editorial titled 'Vietniks and Dratniks'. 'Vietnam Weekend' by Marvin Garson reports on events in Berkeley, London, Aberdeen and Glasgow. Other articles include pieces on the Challenor Report and the 'Beckenham Frame-up', as well as an account by Paul Pawlowski of his arrest in London on 19 September 1965. Scarce: COPAC only lists incomplete runs at Trinity College Dublin, Warwick and the National Library of Scotland.

All items in good condition, on aged paper. ITEM ONE: 'Blackmore Doll's Patterns | One-Piece Dress, Bonnet, Petticoat, Bodice, Chemise and Drawers.' By J. E. Beale, Ltd. Doll Department, Bournemouth. [1920s]. Pattern in pieces of brown paper, in envelope printed with instructions and illustrations. The envelope also contains an illustrated advertisement for the Blackmore catalogue, on blue paper. ITEM TWO: 'Dolls And How To Make Them' by Winifred M. Ackroyd. At foot of title-page: 'To my fellow workers of the W.V.S. (Girlington Hospital Supplies Depot).

12mo, 8 pp. Staining and slight damage to first leaf from rust from staples, otherwise good on aged paper. (Two words of text are lacking, but easily supplied in the following: 'to die the struggle' and ve this message to my friends'). Slug carries code 'CP/C/29/4/43.', the last three elements indicating the date of publication. The front page carries a photograph of Clough, a twenty year-old 'reported missing from an operational flight', and reproduces a letter left by him for his parents.

Consisting of a covering page of text and 24 pp of captioned black-and-white photographs, two to each page, with two pages of advertisements at rear. Photographs of wildlife and members of the Meru, Masai, Wakamba, Samburu, Turkana, Waikikuyu tribes. Printed on rectos only, except for last page.
