110 x 150mm, albumen print laid down on larger card, very good condition

Printed in black on one side of a piece of 32 x 20.5 cm paper. Fold mark. In good condition, lightly aged and worn. Illustration of Viet Cong holding up an AK47 in top right-hand corner. Dense text beginning: 'The heroic People's Liberation Armed Forces and the people of South Vietnam are trouncing the Americann aggressors, the main enemy of the people of the world.' Sections headed: 'PEOPLE'S VICTORIES IN SOUTH VIETNAM', 'BRITISH IMPERIALISM - U.S. STOOGE' and 'FALSE SOLIDARITY AND ACTUAL BETRAYAL'. Slogans at foot of page: 'U.S.

Elegantly designed by the architect William G. Murray, the Dublin branch of Cramer, Wood & Co had a fine exterior. It is referred to in the Nausicaa episode of Joyce's 'Ulysses': 'That widow on Monday was it outside Cramer's that looked at me.' The collection of c.130 items is in good condition, lightly aged and held together with its original brass stud. 19 of the items relate to Dublin Rates and the Income Tax (including an account of 'Municipal Rates 1920/1921', amounting to £639 9s 0d).

Four pages, 12mo, detached, a little roughly from book (some damage where bound in). It includes the explanation of "the cessation of [Bradbury & Evans] connection with 'Household Words'", headed "Mr. Charles Dickens and his late Publishers", discussing relationship with Dickens and his desire to publish personal revelation without consultation with the publishers.

7.5 x 15 cm. With green overprint. In poor condition: worn and with one small hole, and faded manuscript signature and endorsement.

Handbill, one page, crudely coloured border with images of a black troubadour with banjo[?] , a native American, and a trapper [?], 26 x 17cm, three stanzas each eight lines plus chorus, edges chipped, laid down on a larger page. Commences, "Oh! listen a while., a story I will tell; | It will please you to death, I know berry well [...]" Decorative border signed "E A Sparks" ("Printed within colored pictorial border (De Marsan trapper border J, in Wolf, E. Amer. song sheets)." One copy of this imprint listed by WorldCat, two of another imprint (later).

One page, cr. 8vo, two small holes (loss of letter] spotted, tiny closed tears, fold marks, mainly good condition. Headed "Expériences avec la Nitroglycerine", the name of the invitee to be filled in "M...", giving directions for two days of experiments at Hal and Lessines, Programme of "Expériences théoriques / Explosions de différentes Minen". NOte: Alfred Novel and Co. was founded in June 1865. No record yet found of these experiments. Scan on my website.

One page, 12mo,green paper, bifiolium (rest blank), 3 verses, 14 lines each (total 42 lines), preceded by the statement "Written for the Charity Bazaar") and 6 line quotation from Cowper ("Here stay thy foot; - how copious and how clear ... from an Eternal source"). Verses start "Welcome to Ikley! Lady fair ... That God hath bless'd the spring!". No other copy traced (none on COPAC etc). See scan on website inventory.

8pp., 4to. In stiff printed wraps. Printed in black and white. Photographic portrait of the artist tipped-in as frontispiece, twenty illustrations in text, and loosely inserted in a wallet at the rear a facsimile (2pp., 8vo) of an article from the Argentine Magazine, Christmas 1929: 'How MAUZAN makes lively posters' by A. Lancelotti. Cover carries image of smiling fat black man shining his foot with a shoebrush, above facsimile of Mauzan's signature. Scarce: does not appear to be present in the Bibliotheque Nationale.

Poem: On one side of a piece of 12mo paper. Fair, lightly-aged and a little ruckled, with traces of gum from previous mounting on the blank reverse. The 12-line poem is written in heroic couplets, and begins 'POOR, faithful animal, adieu! - | To Nature's kind affection true, | For fourteen years, thy grateful heart, | Devoted, play'd its humble part.' At the end a contemporary hand has ascribed the poem to 'B. B.', and the same hand gives the date as 'September 3d'.

2 pp, 12mo. On the first leaf of a bifolium of wove paper. Fair, on lightly-aged paper. Signed 'L. N.' in type at end. A 114-line poem, in rhyming alexandrine couplets, beginning 'Messieurs, au jeu du whist adoptez constamment | L'air grave britannique et le flegme allemand.

4 pp, 16mo. Paginated [1] to 4. On a bifolium of wove paper. Fair, on lightly-aged and creased paper, with thin strip of previous mount adhering to inner margin of first page.

Printed on one side of a 4to leaf, to which a black mourning border has been given by hand. Well printed on wove paper. Fair, on lightly-aged and ruckled paper. The author's name is not given, and the title reads 'SONNET | ON THE LATE | DUTCHESS [sic] OF GORDON.' The poem begins: 'IS then the bright expansive spirit flown, | That wont to animate the admiring throng? | Does the fair theme of many a poet's Song | Exist in pleasing memory alone?' The poem was also printed in 'The Poetical Register, and Repository of Fugitive Poetry, for 1810-1811' (London: F. C. and J.

A space has been left for "Co-opted Members". P.3 comprises "The Rights of Subject Races", four clauses including adherence to the Hague Convention of 1907. P.4 is blank. All 54 are printed on paper 12 x 9 cm. Each is captioned and numbered in roman numerals, with the first as III and the last as XCVII. Carter published his 'Views of Ancient Buildings in England' between 1786 and 1793, and the six volumes contained a total of 120 views. Those LACKING from this collection, in arabic numerals, are 1, 2, 6-10, 15, 16, 18, 19, 21, 26, 36-38, 43, 48, 53, 57-59, 63-66, 69-71, 73, 75, 76, 78, 81-84, 90-94, 96, and 97-120.

4to, 2 pp. On first leaf of a bifolium. Text clear and complete. Good, on lightly-aged laid paper with watermark of 'A ANNANDALE & SONS'. Stuck down on the reverse of the blank second leaf of the bifolium is a square of paper from the leaf to which it was attached in an album, and beneath this square, visible when held up to the light, is the inscription: 'Imperfectly printed | Annie Stirling Stuart | Castlemilk | 1871'. The poem is 48 lines long, arranged in twelve stanzas. Signed 'H. M.

Printed on three sides of a bifolium on yellow card, with leaves roughly 12 x 20 cm each. Foister & Jagg's slug, on the back of the menu, almost removed by glue from mounting in album: otherwise good. Listing the members of the 'Anniversary Celebrations Committee', together with the 'Menu' and 'Toast List'. Dalton's signature ('Hugh Dalton') is written in pencil on the otherwise blank reverse of the second leaf.

Printed on both sides of a piece of 7 x 9 cm paper. Worn and aged, with damage along edges on both sides, affecting a few words of text, but not the signatures. Both sides with ornate decorative borders. On one side with printing details and decorative pattern of foliage; the other with the number filled in in manuscript, engraving of Royal Crest, and printed declaration, dated 'in the sixteenth Year of the Reign of His Majesty GEO. the Third. Dated at Philadelphia, the 8th Day of December, 1775. Signed at foot 'Jos Redman', 'Wm. Smith' and 'M Clarkson' (the second signature faded).

Fair, on lightly-aged paper. The publicity photograph of Mrs Patrick Campbell, : Roughly 10.5 x 13 cm. Printed in green. Depicts her leaning forwards, with neck and forearms exposed. Across the foot she has written: 'Beatrice Stella Cornwallis West. | (Mrs. Patrick Campbell)'. Laid down on a leaf from an autograph album, on the reverse of which is Kubelik's signature: 'jan Kubelik | 25.XI.1921'.

An interesting assemblage of twenty-six items relating to a leading figure in twentieth-century British typography and design. David Kindersley's best-known work (in conjunction with his third wife Lida) is the iconic gates to the British Library at Euston. The collection is in very good condition. Among the items are three booklets, four keepsakes, one brochure, and ten letters and cards. ONE. Copy of David Kindersley's book 'Eric Gill, Further Thoughts by an Apprentice (London: The Wynkyn de Worde Society, 1982). 12mo, xii + [iv] + 24. Finely printed in green printed wraps. Very good.

Printed in black on two sheets of watermarked laid paper, attached to make a long panel, 84 x 39 cm. Image clear, on worn and aged paper, with minor staining at head (not affecting image), and slight repair to reverse. In bottom left-hand corner: 'G. Herreijns invent. Ao. 1773.' Above this is printed a 19.7 cm rule, marked 1 to 11, to give an idea of scale. In centre at foot: 'Klauberi, Cath., Sermi. et Revdmi. Archiep. et Elect. Trevir: et Episc. Aug.uti et Sermi. Elect. et Com. Pal nec non Cels Princ. Kampidun. Chalc. Aulici, Sculp. Aug.

Folio, 1 p. A printed document, with specific details typed in. Fair, on aged paper, with some wear to extremities. Signed 'Alan J. Macnab', and witnessed by G. Perry of Tokenhouse Yard. A pioneer in the field of television, Radiovisor Parent Co., Ltd. was formed on 31st May, 1928, with a capital of £276500, and owned the rights in a selenium light bridge patented in 1927 and 1928. It had made history in 1927 with the invention of the first ever infra-red beam, this technology being used to protect the Shah of Persia's jewels at an exhibition in 1929.

The fifteen black and white photographic prints are each roughly 14 cm square. All on 'Crown Copyright' paper. Each is photographed with a dated code at the foot in white ink. All images legible. In fair condition, lightly-creased and worn. Eight of the photographs have brief captions on reverse. The shadow of the reconnaissance plane can be seen in one image.

Both items good, on lightly-aged paper. LETTER: 4to, 2 pp. He is enclosing the 'circular letter recently sent out to all the shareholders of this Company, whose shares are not fully paid', but as Kitson has 'paid in full in advance of calls on the 1000 shares' in his name 'by way of Loan to the Company', he informs him of the sum to be transferred to his account. On 3 April 1889 Kitson's 'loan a/c will be closed and your shares will be fully paid'. CIRCULAR: 4to, 1 p.

Card, c.11 x 7cm, [RECTO] date "Ist Novr 1807" in manuscript as are the figures in acolumn after categorisation as follows: "Redeemed by Annual Million &c [£] 66.968.173 | Do.[corrected in ms. to] on acct of Loans 61.622.815 | Do. by Land Tax 22.942.813 | Do. by £1. pr. Ct. pr. Ann . on Imp. Loan 814.723 | Total £ 152.340.529 | The sum to be expended in the ensuing Quarter is £2.529.224.155. [VERSO] [Manuscript] The Rt Honble Lord Melville". It appears that Melville and, presumably, others, received monthly notice of the size of the National Debt and other figures.

Printed in black and red on piece of thick paper, 88 cm x 103 cm. In fair condition, lightly-aged. Insert map of the Golden Horn, and three sections (one of 'Mark for clearing Stefano Bank'), together with a table of conversion from 'British Units - Metres'. Printed beneath the title are six 'Cautions', with no. 2, relating to 'landing places of cables', printed in red. The title continues '[...] | under the direction of Admiral Hamelin of the French Imperial Navy. Chibuldi Bay to Dikili Rock by the Officers of H.M.S. "Spitfire" 1853.

Approximately 27.5 x 31 cm. Printed in black and white, with relief shown by hill shading. A detailed map, showing the routes of the 1830 expeditions in Nigeria of the Landers' and of Captain Clapperton. Lightly aged, with closed tears unobtrusively repaired with archival paper. Small vignettes of 'Eboe House' and 'Hut called in Borgoo, Catambo.'
